Cocktails at Franklin Park Conservatory

Every Thursday at the Franklin Park Conservatory there is a cocktail hour where you get dressed up and have drinks, eat food, and explore the Conservatory! This place is one of my favorites for photo sessions in fact I just took Stacy and Jim's there not too long ago. It has so many wonderful ( and FREE!) places to walk around outside the conservatory; you can even have a picnic anywhere on the grounds!

Anyway getting to back to the post, last week I went with my friend Amanda to have a girls night, here is a sneak peek into our evening:

Who wouldn't want to have a glass of wine in this place?

Chihuly glass sculptures are EVERYWHERE in this place, it is stunning! And the light...oh the light!

After drinking some and eating some, we explored the grounds, this area is known for being a popular spots for brides who get married at the Conservatory to take pictures. My family's business actually made that bow arch in the middle there!

While we were outside, we found little key lime trees, so cute, I'm not gonna lie I wanted to steel one..

This log was huge, but without a human reference it is hard to tell. Anyone know what kind of plants these are...maybe pitcher plants?

For those of you who have never been to FPC, there are different rooms that showcase different environments, this for instance was the Desert Room. I like this room because of the low humidity and warm feeling it gives my skin. :)

Some more Chihuly glass on the ceiling in a cave in the Mountain Room.. and this little window, well this was the BEST for spying on people when I was little and came here!

We walked through this room that was all decorated for a wedding reception. This ceiling art is made entirely out of recycled water bottles! How COOL!

After going back to the cocktail room, Amanda and I shared a hard cider and listened to some lovely live music by Brian Douglas Day, if you get a chance, go see him play, he has a wonderful voice! It was dark by this point in the night which looked great, but not so easy to photograph when someone forgot her flash ;) All in all it was a great night!
